Bob is once again late with his seasonal game! This time, I’m offering you a platformer where you play as Santa Claus across three levels. It’s my first attempt at the genre that dominated the 90s, and I have to admit I didn’t face any major technical difficulties. However, when it came to level design and difficulty balancing, that required a bit more effort, and I wish I could’ve spent more time on it. But releasing a Christmas game in August might have been frowned upon… I tried to create a gradually increasing difficulty, and finishing the game in a single run will require some skill. That said, it’s not impossible, despite the somewhat imperfect controls (not everyone can be Nintendo!).
But since “creating at my leisure and releasing my projects on time” isn’t exactly a priority for Bob the Masochist, I had to complicate things by deciding to release the game on three different platforms (Windows, Android, and web browser), supporting the sacred trio of keyboard, gamepads, and touch controls, with automatic adaptation to the device in use… No less! This was another first for me, and I really struggled with it. The final result is decent, but the touch controls could use some reworking, and I don’t think they’re reliable enough to complete the game. Personally, I couldn’t get past the second level under those conditions… On top of that, the game—despite being quite lightweight—still manages to stutter on Android devices. In short, an imperfect first attempt, but the challenge was still met! Judge for yourself:

As usual, the game is available for download on my itch.io page, but the web version is playable right below this article. Have fun, and Merry Christmas!
